Heart Attack Advice from a Cardiologist!

Bayer is making a crystal aspirin that dissolves under the tongue much faster than the tablets. Keep some next to your bed, in the car, purse and at the office. Why? Heart Attacks are not always accompanied by chest pain down the arms. Heart attacks symptoms can include profuse sweating, pain around the jaw area or nausea. These symptoms can even come and go.

If these symptoms or chest pains occur, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water. Afterwards :
CALL 911;
- say “heart attack!”
- say that you have taken 2 aspirins.
- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by.
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival
DO NOT LIE DOWN WHILE YOU ARE WAITING FOR THE EMT!

Quiet Time?

The pace of life today is exhausting. Constant interruptions and a long “to do” list seem to make everyday challenging. Major corporations like IBM, Intel, Deloitte & Touche have now instituted “Quiet Time.” During this designated block of time, you cannot send or receive emails, make or receive phone calls (with exception when related to a time sensitive project). They are finding this creates more productivity and creativity.

Karyn Greenstreet (www.passionforbusiness.com) has been successfully self-employed and mentors others self-employed for success with the wisdom she has gained over the years. She found simple answers to the daily hassle:
-choose one task for the year
-create your “quiet time” each day to live a healthier life
-establish core productive times each day
-set one day aside for special projects
-only handle emails & return calls at specified times of the day

Karyn has numerous other tips you can hear about by subscribing to her clear, concise newsletter. The important suggestion today is take time to be quiet. No TV, internet surfing, just breathe!

One way I like to take a break is rebounding. I have a rebounder next to the desk and in-between projects, I take 5 mins. to put on some revved up music and bounce. NASA endorsed “rebounding” for the astronaunts to help them regain bone mass … and as an excellent general exercise. It is fun, doesn’t take up much room, is available rain or shine, hot or cold weather and really works the vital lymphatic system. Click on this link to view rebounders:
